Grand View Health is hoping to help with a national blood shortage by hosting two upcoming blood donation events. The health system is encouraging community members to donate blood to their local blood banks to ensure local hospitals have adequate supply.
The first blood drive is set for Monday, Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Emergency Medical Services building, located on the Grand View Hospital campus in Sellersville. The second blood drive will take place on Monday, Nov. 28.
The events are open to the public, and appointments are required.
Appointments can be made online at GVH.org/Events.
To be eligible to donate blood, you must be 16 years of age or older and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Individuals are eligible to donate whole blood every 56 days.
People who can’t make it to one of the upcoming Grand View Health blood drives are encouraged to schedule appointments directly at Miller-Keystone Blood Center.
