Grand View Health Visitation Policy

Effective Monday, January 22, 2024, Grand View Health is updating its visitor policy.

Inpatient Visitors

Daily visiting hours are 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
All visitors are required to sign in.
Visitation is subject to patient consent.
Cultural practices will be considered and accommodated when possible.
Clergy members may visit patients upon patient request.
Adults may not visit patients if they are ill or experiencing symptoms of cold, flu or other viruses.
Children may visit patients unless the child is ill. The condition of the patient should be considered when planning a visit by a child. Children should not disturb other patients.
Children under age 15 are not permitted to visit patients in the ICU (Floor 2 of the Pavilion. Exceptions may be made by request.)
Visitation to the ICU (Floor 2 of the Pavilion) is limited to two visitors at bedside (Exceptions may be made by request.)

Birth & Family Center Visitors

Two support partners may accompany mothers during their hospital stay.
One support person may stay overnight.
Visiting hours for siblings of newborns are from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. and upon patient request.
Two support partners may accompany an expectant mother when visiting the hospital to rule out labor, for non-stress tests, and for other medically necessary pre-delivery testing.
Facilities are available for breast pumping and mother’s milk will be sent home.

Visitors of Patients with Respiratory Illnesses (COVID, influenza, RSV, etc.)

Visitors must wear full personal protective equipment at all times.
Visitors must remain in the patient’s room for the duration of the visit.
Visitors must remain masked when entering and exiting the facility.
Visitors are encouraged not to congregate in common areas of the hospital.
If staff assistance is needed, the visitor should ring the patient’s call bell in the room.

Developmentally Disabled and Incapacitated Patients

One support person is permitted for patients with an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability, communication barrier or behavioral concern.
One support person is permitted for incapacitated patients as designated by that patient’s advance directive. This support person is responsible for determining who else may visit the patient.

Clergy

Community clergy are permitted to visit patients. Pastoral care services are available at Grand View Health to support and attend to patients’ diverse spiritual needs. Contact our chaplain at 215-453-4970 or spaek@gvh.org.
